Privacy Policy

Honwards ("we", "us") provides Hungarian citizenship-interview preparation: a self-paced course, generated practice documents, and generated interview audio. This policy explains what data we collect through the site and course platform, why, and what rights you have over it.

1. A note on the personal data you enter

Most of what you enter into the course — names, family relationships, addresses, dates, work history — is there so you can rehearse answering it aloud under interview conditions. You do not need to enter your real details to benefit from the course. You're free to use placeholder or fictional information throughout the intake forms and family-member sections; the drills, generated documents, and generated audio all work identically either way. If you do choose to enter real information, we handle it under this policy — but note in [Section 7] that we can't verify anything you submit, and nothing generated by the course is an official government filing or immigration record.

2. What we collect

• Account data: the email address and password you register with, and basic account activity (login, tier/purchase status).
• Course intake data: answers you provide in the intake forms and family-member sections (names, relationships, dates, places, and similar interview-preparation content), whether real or fictional.
• Generated materials: the practice documents, interview sheets, and audio files we generate from your answers, stored so you can revisit and re-download them.
• Contact form submissions: name, email, and message, if you write to us via the contact page.
• Payment confirmation: we receive confirmation that a payment was made and its amount/tier — we do not receive or store your card number or bank details, which are handled entirely by our payment processor [CHECK: processor to be named once selected].
• Basic technical data: standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, page requested) generated by normal hosting operation.

The diagnostic quiz on this site is the one exception: its "Save & continue later" feature stores your in-progress answers only in your browser's local storage. That data is never transmitted to us.

3. Why we collect it, and our legal basis

We collect and use this data to deliver the paid service you sign up for: creating your account, running the course, generating your practice documents and audio, and providing support. Where the law requires us to name a legal basis (as EU/EEA and similar frameworks do), our basis is performance of the contract we enter into with you when you register and purchase a tier, together with our legitimate interest in operating and improving the course. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it.

4. Who can see it

Your data is visible to you, and to Honwards administrators for support and course-delivery purposes (for example, reviewing a flagged answer). Access to the admin dashboard requires a login code emailed to a single, fixed admin address and is further protected by session and request-forgery controls. We also share limited data with the service providers who help us run the course, strictly for that purpose:

• Our email provider, to send you account and support email.
• Our speech-synthesis provider, to generate interview-practice audio from your answers.
• Our AI text-generation provider, to translate and phrase your answers into practice documents and interview sentences.
• Our hosting provider, which stores the site, database, and generated files.
• Our payment processor, to process your purchase.

We do not otherwise share, rent, or sell your data to third parties.

5. How we protect it

The site is served over HTTPS with HTTP Strict Transport Security enabled. Generated documents and audio are stored outside the publicly served part of our server, not in a location a browser can reach directly. The admin dashboard is session-gated, uses passwordless email codes rather than a stored admin password, and every admin action that changes data is checked against cross-site request forgery. Detailed error messages from our AI and speech providers are shown only to administrators for troubleshooting; students only ever see a generic error message.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your account and course data for as long as your account is active, so you can keep returning to your practice materials. If you ask us to delete your account (see [Section 8]), we will delete your intake answers, generated documents, and generated audio within a reasonable time, except where we need to keep limited records (such as payment confirmation) for accounting or legal purposes.

7. Not legal or immigration advice

Honwards is an independent interview-preparation course. We are not a law firm, immigration consultancy, or government body, and we are not affiliated with any government agency. Nothing we generate — practice documents, interview sheets, or audio — is an official filing, and we cannot verify the accuracy of anything you submit to us.

8. Your rights

Wherever you're located, you can ask us to:

• Send you a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Correct data that's inaccurate.
• Delete your account and associated data.
• Stop using your data for a purpose you object to.

We apply these rights consistently to every user, regardless of location — including where local law (such as the EU's GDPR, Costa Rica's Ley 8968, or a US state privacy law) would otherwise make some of them conditional. To exercise any of these, email us at the address in [Section 11].

9. Children

The course includes a track for younger applicants (roughly ages 14–17), used together with a parent or guardian's account and consent. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13, and the service is not directed at them.

10. International use

Honwards is operated from Costa Rica and primarily serves applicants in the United States, though anyone may use the site. Your data may be processed on servers located outside your own country. By using the service, you understand your data will be handled as described in this policy regardless of where it's processed.
